During processing, polyolefins often stick to themselves or to a metal surface. A desirable friction coefficient for polyolefins in solid form typically lies between 0.2 and 0.3. In day-to-production, however, the molten form of the polyolefin rarely achieves this coefficient value.

Yet, these values can be achieved by employing Slip masterbatches. These allow the manufacturers to produce films with the desired COF-value.
